1. Complete a Dental Hygiene Program. Usually takes 2-3 years

Offered at community colleges and technical schools, leading to an associate degree or certificate

 

2. Pass Your Licensing Exams Required in all states. Exams test knowledge and clinical skills

3. Get Your State LicenseCheck your requirements to see if it requires additional exams or applications

4. Start Your Career! Once licensed, you’re ready to work as a dental hygienist.
